This week has been completely packed with activity, and I can’t believe it’s already Friday. I made a to-do list the other day in an attempt to get all the cluttered ideas I have down on paper and out of my head. I’m feeling so inspired these days, that I can’t actually do all of the things I’m feeling inspired to do right now. There simply isn’t enough time. One of my greatest faults is patience, so I really have to work on just allowing things to happen at their own pace and not get upset about the fact that I’m incapable of adding hours to a day.
Last night we stopped and had sushi for dinner at a place we frequent in our neighborhood. It has outdoor seating, and the sun was shining, so we made our move for a table. We had a pleasant meal and headed across the street to the playground to climb some jungle gyms, careen down the slides, and, my favorite: soar through the air on swings. I took a few pictures, then suddenly dropped my camera next to my bag and ran over to the swings. I was all alone there, and I swung my legs so I could go high into the sky and dropped my head and body back so I could look up at the clear blue sky just as they day’s light was starting to fade. And I had it. You know, that moment – where you take a mental snapshot because you just know, this moment is what it’s all about. It was simply, pure exhilaration and truly just existing in that moment. Joy.
The projects will get done, just maybe not in the timeframe I hope for, but they will get done. And I am okay with that.
I’m heading out of town tomorrow for the holiday weekend and should have lots to share with you next week. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend. Just for fun, I leave you with a picture of my dog blackberry picking with us a couple of days ago.
She is the very worst because she always just eats what she picks.
